NEWS

5/29 - Some rules/updates: Memorial Day: People marching in the parade or otherwise involved in some working capacity are safe. However, anyone just enjoying the parade or in town is not protected. School IS safe on the weekends. There have been a couple of disputes, which are difficult to resolve to say the least. From now on, IF THERE IS A DISPUTE BOTH PEOPLE WILL BE REMOVED.

5/26-Check your emails tonight by 11:59PM for your target. If you have not received an email by then contact us immediately at nchsapassassination@gmail.com

5/25-People had some questions about the rules, regarding shields. You can only use a shield that would block a real bullet. So if you really want to, wear a kavlar vest or buy a riot shield. If you are walking around witha cardboard box, and the nerf dart hits the box, you are out. If the dart hits your gun you are out. Also, the first round will begin at 12am friday and continue through the weekend till next tuesday at 11:59PM. If you haven't allready, bring in your money tomorrow.

5/24- You guys need to bring in money tomorrow. A lot of people have said they are going to play, but haven't actually given us money. Until we get the $15, you have not signed up. Also, people have expressed concerns regarding the holiday weekend. If enough people aren't going to be around this weekend we might make the first round longer (till tuesday).

How it Works

AP Assassination is open to all students at New Canaan High School enrolled in an AP class. Students interested can sign up by getting in touch with Reid Barnett, Dan Calanca or Haik Kavookjian during school, or by sending an email to nchsapassassination@gmail.com. Your name will not be placed on the list until your $15 entrance fee has been paid. Once the list of participants is completed, each student will be given the name of another student whom they must "assassinate" using any form of Nerf gun. If you are hit by your assassin, you are out. If you are not hit or fail to hit your designated target, you are out. If you do hit your target and manage to stay alive, you will move on to the next round. The final winner will be guaranteed a cash prize of $500. For more detailed rules, see below.

AP Assassination – New Canaan High School  Rules

Coordinators: Reid Barnett, Dan Calanca, Haik Kavookjian

Prize: 85% of total earnings.  This will be ~$500!

1. The registration fee is $15: any senior who has taken or is taking an AP class at New Canaan High School can participate.

2. PAYMENT: You must sign up with Reid Barnett, Dan Calanca, or Haik Kavookjian by Thursday and PAY AT THAT TIME.  You will be contacted Thursday night with a target.

3. PLAY:  This is an abbreviated version of the game: every round lasts two (2) days.  If, at the end of those two days, you have not killed your target, you are out.  STAYING ALIVE DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL MAKE IT ON TO THE NEXT ROUND.

4. AP Assassination will start on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 12:01 AM.  The first round will end Tuesday at 11:59 PM, and each round will continue in the same fashion.

5. Any NERF gun can be used, assuming that it is not self-propelled.  Do not use Frisbees, discs, footballs, etc.  Similarly, gas-propelled guns and other high-power weapons are banned.

6. There is to be NO Assassination-related play on school grounds or during school field trips etc.  You are not allowed to bring a NERF gun on school premises either.  This rule is only valid from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM.  Sporting events are not considered school activities, so you may assassinate someone during that time, but if the administrators object, you’re on your own.

7.  Drive-by shootings are not allowed.  However, if your car is not moving you can shoot from it. Likewise, you can shoot into a car if it is not moving. Don't be stupid and get into an accident!!

8. As soon as a kill is made, contact Reid Barnett, Dan Calanca, or Haik Kavookjian IMMEDIATELY.  You must also make sure the person you have killed reports it.

9. If there is a dispute, WHICH THERE SHOULD NOT BE, both parties should come to the organizers and explain the situation.  This probably will not work out in your favor, so be honest.

10. Targets may fight back!  If your assassin is attacking you and you shoot him/her, the assassin must leave immediately and not make another attempt for 1 hour.

11.   A persons own house is a safe zone.  THEY ARE NOT SAFE IN A FRIENDS HOUSE.  The yard etc. is fair game however, so once you walk out the front door you are no longer protected.  Garages are not protected!  Walking to the car is risky!

12. When someone is at a paid job (i.e. a store in town), that person is safe.  Don’t get someone fired!  However, as soon as they are off shift or leave the store during a shift, they are once again a valid target.

13. Churches etc. are safe zones.

14.  SHIELDS:You can only use a shield that would block a real bullet. So if you really want to, wear a kavlar vest or buy a riot shield. If you are walking around witha cardboard box, and the nerf dart hits the box, you are out. If the dart hits your gun you are out. You CAN use body guards.

15.  DON’T DO ANYTHING ILLEGAL.  YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE GAME.
